Opening is quite lovely. Kick drum, snare, percussion and high hats are all good but mixed too loud. Especially the snare/kick and occasional crash cymbal. The song’s main melodic elements: leads, pads, bass, supporting melody, are all great and well mixed to each other but are getting drowned out by the drums. Mixing issues aside, this is very nice indeed. Wonderful melodies and progression. I like this a lot. I would call this more nintendo/super nintendo though not sega.

LostChronology responds:

Thanks for the feedback and the constructive criticism! :)

Yes mixing the snare and kick too loud is something I have struggled with more in the past, I'll try to keep it in mind for the future.

Congrads on the front page!

LostChronology responds:

Thank you! :)

Nice chill tune. : ) This is most definitely not dance genre though.

Nice changes. Chord lead is good. Sine lead is too piercing. Drum pattern is generic. Drum sound is good. Other supporting instruments are nice but could use some effects. Pleasant tune that could benefit from a little production.

Flascoe responds:

thank you for the feedback, i rarely use effects on anything because i'm a wimp but i might throw some on instruments in a future song

This is all sorts of the things I love. I'm on cheap cans, so I can't be too critical. Only thing I would mention is the kit's kick could use a bit more volume and low end, unless it was intentional for it to be sitting way back. This is going to sound great with vox! : )

pitbulljones responds:

And here's me thinking the kick may be too heavy. But cans man.........i really need to reconnect my monitors. At least you haven't highlighted any bad mixing of the parts :)

I have sent this to my singer so hopefully she finds something

thanks bro

It does have that motown swinging beat, though I'm no expert on the genre. I like it. Who could balk with a sweet trap like that. : )

pitbulljones responds:

Good to know you agree it's in the motown swing. It's a genre I love, though lack serious practice, but it's basically upbeat blues......without the funk. Still have to try and retain the soul innit. I have a singer working on this atm so this should develop. ty bro.

On cheap cans at the moment too so, all I can say is, it sounds good! lol

I really like how the bass and piano fit together. Was never a fan of horns but they aren't offensive here. Thumbs up my bro.

pitbulljones responds:

I'm a whore for horns. I'll put them in anything. Glad you think the grooves sitting. As you know these are demoes, i certainly want to develop this though :)

Very melancholy. I dig the pads, as is expected. Nice kick. Very meaty. All in all, very clean. Are you ready? Well, you got front paged, so I'd say you're music's doing fine. Sorry about your mum. Be well bro.

aww yeah, love that opening pad. So much low fi goodness. It's Warbly but not too much. It stays sweet. Very chill track, in a warm way. I like.

Love the playful sample splicing. Very hip and cool. ^_^

I make music and sounds. I post mostly on newgrounds so people can use them in games and such. My full albums can be found on my home page below.
