The problem is, anyone who dares make something of substance is usually scorned because it makes people aware of their inadequacies. That, OR, they are buried under a metric ton of CRAP. Crap made by the same people you complain about. Made not because they couldn't do better, but because they don't want to. Society wants to be vapid. Because there's no direct negative consequence for it. In fact they are rewarded for it.

Mainstream movies/music are pushing boundaries, just not the ones you want. Intellect in entertainment? Writers in the 1800s were saying intellect was dead. By now, intellectually, mainstream movies/music probably have a completely net negative charge. Like, they probably make you dumber for having seen them. Probably.

Hate to say it but I can’t give this a 5. The production is superb as usual, however, in stark contrast to the edgy animation, the social-political stance, lacks conviction.
