Fantastic! Intro is perfect and just long enough. Excellent lead. A little glassy but still round and sweet. Great swaying beat. Gives it a very cool skip and trip feel. This song reminds me of my old neighborhood. ;.; Lots of feels. Love how that lead just crumbles and fades into the distance. So much lofi yes here! <:3

ಥ‿ಥ Thank you very much friend, that you have joined the GR family represents a lot to me! Woooooo thanks bro

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllll over it. Love it. <:3 so much overtone goodness here. Cool beats loop. No complaints.

pitbulljones responds:

Cheers mate :)

that intro is sweeeeeeeeeeeeet. Metallic snare hit in the beat is a little harsh for my taste. not a fan of the vocals. Not because they aren't well done here, just because I'm burned out on that style. Nice breakdown. Neat use of reverb ducking. Mix is a bit bright but this is a pretty cool track. :3 I like it a lot actually. Well paced and orchestrated.

stratuskloud responds:

it's a rim snare

Neat little tune. Simple but I like it.

Siege13 responds:

thank you! it was kinda what i was going for (:

Cool piece. Lead pad is a little harsh sounding for such a long track. Nice melodies. Good fades.

etK responds:

Thanks for the criticism, and I'm glad you liked it overall!! :D

The production is pretty flawless from what I can tell. I just can't really judge it artistically, since I have reached complete burnout on modern music styles. That aside, I really dig this mix. Very creative. Retro and funk clashing with modern in a coherent way. It's a winner IMO. My only critique is there is a high frequency loop happening in the background on the bridge or whatever it is at 2:00 and 4:00. It sounds a little too much like digital noise to me.

eatmeatleet responds:

Tnx mate. Yeah, the mix and master is much better than any of my previous. I decided not to add too much fuckery to the song and it was kinda successful.

Thanks for checking it out

Iike that trippy kit pattern. This has a 90s feel to it, in a good way. Probably would go great with some vocals. Really no critique comes to mind except the damn blank thumb, lol. It's a solid tune and I like it.

pitbulljones responds:

Cheers mate. This came from nowhere at 2am, strung a chord progression and just thought 'this kinda works', layered the shit out of it with my tele. it has an s1 switch so i can run in or out of phase which gives me 6 pick up options. All used. Ran my ebow, some outboard racks and post and high passed the trebley guitar and low passed the bass and drums. I would love vocals. im in the studio in a week with my band, see if they can work it.

lol I didn't know you were on NGs. Unless this is a doppelganger account. Cool beans if it's really you though. : ) Not much to realistically critique. Your work is pretty darn "period" accurate and well done.

Whitewoods responds:

this isn't a doppleganger, just posted some songs here so a listener could use it in their game. appreciate the encouragment :)

Synth lead is getting squashed by compression pumping from what sounds like the bass and kick. If that's intentional ok, but it would feel a lot more chill without the pumping. Other than that, very nice track. I like it.

Good elements. Needs a little more mixing. Metallic part of the percussion that starts at 0:19 and continues till 1:25 is very loud in the mix. Your clap starting at 0:28 through 0:47 is also loud. Like, you'd expect a very forward clap like that in a high energy genre but not atmospheric ambient like this. When you bring the clap back in at 2:05, it's not a problem because it's better balanced with the tune do to there being more volume in general at that part of the tune, so it blends better.

Nice ambient effect at 1:55. I like the delayed arp sound you have that starts at 0:29 and appears again in other parts of the tune. The percussion at 1:29 through 1:45 is very nice. Good satisfying sound on that one. The glass clink sounds added to it at 1:45 are loud. very nice pads/melody at 2:30. I like how this piece evolves. That linear through form evolution is very important to keeping things interesting, particularly in atmospheric music genres. Round 2:33 through 3:02 you bring in some sort of buzzy lead playing an ascending arp line. I think a different type of synth patch would be better suited. The one you used, kinda sounds like it belongs in a house mix.

I see you are using that tongue drum sound. This is a great application for it. It gives some warmth and beauty to balance out what is a pretty melancholy piece of music.

One last rather insignificant thing. Don't leave your tune's thumb blank. It just looks so much better when it's filled with something eye catching. Also a blank thumb makes it look less professional.

LostChronology responds:

Thanks for the extensive review! :)

I tried to change some of the things which you pointed out, but I don't understand what you mean with the last thing of leaving the "thumb blank", could you explain this in PM or on Discord?

I make music and sounds. I post mostly on newgrounds so people can use them in games and such. My full albums can be found on my home page below.
